TRICHY: The Government Railway Police (GRP) seized 60 kg of ganja at Trichy Railway Junction on Saturday.
A GRP team stumbled upon four bags on platform No 1 in the morning. On suspicion, the police checked the bags which were filled with ganja. They found 30 packs, each containing two kg of ganja.
Sub-inspectors of police Lakshmi and Jawan and constable Jayakumar were part of the team. The police were checking CCTV footages to trace the person(s) who left the bags there.
Liquor seized
The GRP seized 30 bottles of liquor from a passenger at Trichy Railway Junction. The police said they searched the baggage of V Thangararu of Ponnagar who arrived here in the the Mysuru – Mayiladuthurai Express train in the early hours of Saturday. They found liquor bottles hidden his suitcase. The police arrested him and released him on bail.
