TRICHY: Tamil Nadu municipal administration minister K N Nehru on Tuesday exuded confidence that Covid-19 vaccination drive would be resumed in Trichy district in a few days.
“The central government supplied the vaccine for the people aged above 45 years. The Tamil Nadu government procured the vaccines on its own for people aged between 18 and 44 years. The state government supplied 52,000 doses to Trichy, and they were used. The vaccines will be replenished. We will resume the vaccination soon,” Nehru told reporters after inspecting the Government Headquarters Hospital in Manapparai.
The minister said the Government Headquarters Hospital, which has been equipped with a 100-bedded facility to treat Covid-19 patients, could be upgraded if needed. The district collector would sanction funds to construct the first floor of the hospital, he added.
