KALYAN: The Kalyan- Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) in Maharashtra‘s Thane district has detected 951 Covid positive passengers who reached Kalyan railway station from other states in the past six months.
The KDMC conducted 77,000 rapid antigen test in this period on passengers who visited without their negative RT-PCR test reports.
The KDMC officials said that after the state government made it compulsory for passengers coming from eight high-load states to carry their RT-PCR test report, the civic body decided to speed up testing at railway station.
“So far, we have conducted antigen test of about 77,000 people of which 951 tested positive for the Covid-19 infection. They were sent into isolation for treatment,” said KDMC’s public relation officer Madhavi Pofale.
