CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government on Sunday postponed the Class XII state board exams in view of rising Covid-19 cases. More than eight lakh students are scheduled to appear for the exams which were to be held from May 5 to 31.
However, the practical exams which is being conducted will be held as planned till April 23.
The state government also asked all coaching centres to close down their physical classes. However, they are permitted to hold online classes.
The guidelines also asked the college and university teachers to conduct online classes from their houses. It also banned the summer camps for the children.
The state government also directed all colleges and universities to conduct only online exams for upcoming semester exams.
